Italy is one of the most requested travel destinations in the world and it’s not hard to see why. This exquisite country boasts a long history, a rich culture, and decadent cuisine. But you will want to turn in early since you have an early wake up call on Day 2 – but it will be worth it as you take part in an exclusive, private guided tour of the Vatican Museums and the Sistine Chapel before it opens to the public. Before you leave Rome on Day 3 you will visit St. Peter’s Basilica to marvel at one of the largest churches in the world.
Then you will travel to Tuscany – taking time to explore Orvieto before continuing to Tavarnelle Val di Pesa. Day 4 is what dreams of Tuscany are made of. Visit a working farm in the heart of the Chianti region where you will learn how to make pasta. And then the adults will enjoy a wine tasting while the kids get to pick fresh herbs and learn how to infuse olive oil. And as if that wasn’t the perfect Tuscan day, let’s end with a banquet in a 15th-century castle.
Day 5 will take you to Florence where your private guide will lead you on an exploration of the cities most famous sites – including Michelangelo’s David, the Duomo, Baptistry, Piazza della Signoria, Piazza della Repubblica, Ponte Vecchio and more. But there still is so much of Italy to see…
And so on Day 6 you will travel by train to Venice. Once in Venice you will take an iconic gondola ride where you glide along the famed Grand Canal. Then take a walking tour to Piazza San Marco and hear the stories of intrigue and mystery from Venice’s past. Your final full day in Italy will be spent in Venice exploring the Doges Palace and then making your own Venetian Carnevale mask. Finally, board the Jolly Roger, a pirate galleon modeled after the ships of the Venetian Republic for your farewell dinner.
